Diamonds are forever, a girls best friend, and downright expensive. In order to put that diamond ring on your finger, someone has to mine, ship, process, inspect, polish, set, and ultimately sell that diamond. With all of these various steps, it’s no wonder why diamonds are among the world’s most expensive items. Of every diamond mined throughout the world every year, far less than half will be gem quality. What happens to the rest of the diamonds?
There’s a number of difference between diamond and pearls, apart from their obviously dissimilar appearances. Pearls, for example, are built up over time from oysters’ secretions of nacre (or Mother of Pearl). Diamonds, on the other hand, are mined from rocks that contain them naturally.
White/Colorless Diamonds – The most common of all diamonds are the white and colorless diamonds and are often seen in engagement rings. These stones come in a variety of sizes and shapes. You can also find Asscher cut and Round diamonds for rings. Modern-day engagement rings tend to have Princess cut diamonds in them.
A diamond seen in a jewellers shop, in earrings or on a solitaire ring, is often transparent, or slightly yellow. The whiter the diamond, the more valuable it is. Diamonds with a strong blue or pink colour to them are called fancies, and are very rare. However, diamonds are available in almost any colour.
The prices are highly competitive online because the operational costs are lower for online stores. Many online dealers sell their diamonds for less than they would in an actual store. You can also save on taxes if you get your purchase shipped to you from another state. Buying diamonds online is also very flexible. You can view a number of different diamonds, compare prices, and do research on the diamonds all within a few minutes. Even if you do not know much about diamonds, it is easy to learn with the internet at your fingertips.
If you really want to get the highest possible price for your diamond accessories you can always auction it online. Auctioning your jewelry is a good way to raise the value of anything. Diamonds usually fetch a high price on auctions and you will not be disappointed. This is probably the best way to sell diamonds to get the price you want.
Now this is quite the tricky part. Looking for a reputable diamond buyer is quite a dime a dozen. To make sure that you will get the highest price possible, try to sell diamonds to a friend or relative who’s been lusting over your diamonds. Usually they’re the ones who will offer you the best price. Another option is to offer your diamonds at a reputable store. Probably the last profitable option would be to sell diamonds to a local diamond retailer. Though they offer an acceptable amount, do not expect a hefty amount since they would also sell your diamonds to another person or store.
When looking at the certificate for a heart diamond, the most important areas to look at are the color and cut grades. With these, color can appear around the corners, especially with a color grade of J or lower. Finally, because of the relative difficulty associated with cutting heart diamonds, the cut grade is extremely important. It’s recommended that you stick with diamonds with a cut grade of “Good” at the very least, and higher if at all possible. Poorly cut heart diamonds will suffer greatly in terms of sparkle and brilliance.
